Out and About in Perth

Melbourne Director Liam Bastick spent last week in Perth, even foregoing the Victorian public holiday (poor soul). Our Excel MVP presented to over 100 accountants at two conferences on Financial Modelling Tips, the Top 12 Excel functions and Power Pivot. The response was quite favourable with various attendees interested in finding out more, especially regarding Power Pivot.

“Many smaller companies are spending money they don’t necessarily need to in creating customised reports sourced from various reporting systems and spreadsheets,” Liam explained. “Through Power Query, Power Pivot and Power BI, Microsoft is developing a popular self-service Business Intelligence solution at the home of all things financial – Excel.”

Indeed, it was a productive week in Western Australia for our man in Melbourne visiting various clients too. With several follow-up meetings already arranged it’s likely a return trip to the world’s remotest city is not too far away.
